What We Do - Photographic Style
His and Hers Creative pays attention to you! A wedding is so many things...the dress, the rings, the cake, the flowers and candles. We document these in careful detail for the distracted bride and groom who too often miss them.
Above all, a wedding is a human institution, and our most precious memories are those of the loved ones gathered to celebrate the union. Those faces, those tears and smiles, thoughts and gestures—they are our focus, and why we do what we do.
We shoot a sort of photojournalistic/portrait hybrid style. We love following people around and shooting whatever they're doing, but if we see something really great and we miss it, we won't hesitate to ask you to do it again! The same goes for something that's almost cool—if it could be cooler if you were to do x, y, or z, we'll ask you to do one of those so we can get the shot that is in our minds. We also love shots where people are looking at the camera, which isn't really a photojournalistic thing either, but we kinda don't care....
When we take pictures, we generally have the album in mind. The album tells the story of your day, and we want to make sure that we cover everything.
We don't limit ourself to a certain number of photos at a wedding (or any other shoots, for that matter!), and we don't like to work from a "shot list." (Don't get us wrong...we don't mind if you have some specific things you want pics of, but if we’re spending the entire day going over a checklist, we’re missing out on all the good stuff that's going on around us!)
We believe that your day will go much more smoothly, and be much more enjoyable, if you have a photographer who you really "click" with. We want your day to be as relaxing and stress-free as possible, and we'll do everything we can to help make sure it is.
